Drunk & Drugged Driving Prevention
There is no limit on the time that an anti-drunk driving campaign can be used, but with the holidays approaching, there should be extra emphasis to prevent tragedies related from drunk driving from happening to anyone in our communities.
Directions:
1. Targets can include any local business, restaurants, pubs, insurance agencies, catering services, banquet facilities, civic organizations, local law enforcement departments, hospitals, clinics, physicians, attorneys, taxi companies, hotel/motels, etc. Include co-op where possible. Encourage special offers for the “designated driver.”
2. This promotion can be run as a one-time thing at the beginning of December, or periodically throughout the month and prior to New Years. News releases and general information on the subject can be found on the National Commission Against Drunk Driving’s website at www.ncadd.com/newsroom/index.cfm.
Alternative:
1.Co-sponsor a promotion highlighting responsible revelry during the holidays. Ask local pubs and restaurants to verify a “designated driver or drivers” for a group celebrating in their place of business. The verification to be sent to the station to enter into a drawing for a free party (up to a given amount) at the sponsoring business of the winner’s choice (Designated drivers required, of course).
